Irene Vázquez Domínguez (born in 1990) is a post-doctoral researcher who moved to the Netherlands in 2019. Since then, she has conducted her research on AON-based therapeutic approaches for inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) at the Department of Human Genetics and the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, in the Radboudumc, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Irene has a MSc degree in Genetics and Cell Biology, and obtained her PhD degree with a Cum Laude mention in Molecular Biosciences. She received funding from the UitZicht (2021-22 Call), which is allowing her to start novel research in IRDs with the final goal to develop novel therapeutic approaches for these diseases.
