Thomas Hohman, PhD

Thomas Hohman, PhD, earned his PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the National Eye Institute. He has more than 30 years of experience in ophthalmology research and drug development. Throughout his career, Thomas held senior leadership positions at Wyeth-Ayerst, Novartis, Alcon, and Allergan. He has contributed to the development of therapies for several retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, geographic atrophy and macular telangiectasia Type 2. After retiring from Allergan, where he served as Vice President of Retinal Translational Medicine and Head of Retina Discovery, he founded Envision Consulting LLC. He currently advises biotechnology companies and academic groups that are focused on the development of novel therapeutics for retinal diseases.
