Last week, Professor Carel Hoyng, one of Astherna’s founders, delivered his farewell lecture “Life is Not a Letter Chart.”
For decades, Carel has been dedicated to improving the lives of patients with retinal diseases through clinical care, research, and innovation. His work shaped the field of inherited retinal diseases and has inspired many clinicians, researchers and patients along the way.
Carel’s vision and commitment were also instrumental in the founding of Astherna. The ambition to translate scientific discoveries into meaningful treatments for patients remains at the heart of what we do every day.
We would like to congratulate Carel on an exceptional career and thank him for everything he has contributed to the field and to Astherna.
